FAQs
Is this event kid-friendly?
This an adult-only event.
If you are from out of town and don't know a babysitter, we highly recommend https://snappysitters.com/. We recommend putting in a request early to guarantee that a babysitter is available.
Both schools are also planning informal get-togethers on Sunday for people who would like to gather with families:
Mt View, 12pm, GoodLife Brewing Company
Bend High, 12pm, Crux Fermentation Project
Can I bring a partner or friend with me?
Of course, the more the merrier! Bring your spouse/partner/friend with you to the reunion! More participation means more fun and more money raised for the scholarship fund.
Please note that if you are bringing a spouse/partner/friend with you, each person needs to register separately.
I don't drink, can I still enjoy the event?
Absolutely! The primary goal is to reconnect with old classmates. All of the breweries will have non-alcoholic options available and we encourage you to come and mingle whether or not you want to partake in the free beer samples from each of the breweries along the Pub Crawl. At dinner, we'll have non-alcoholic beverage options.
I don't want to participate in the walk/ Pub Crawl.
No problem. This is just an additional opportunity to mingle with classmates and reconnect while walking and sampling Central Oregon's best craft breweries. If you don't want to participate in the Pub Crawl, we'll look forward to seeing you for the dinner starting at 5pm. You are also welcome to stop by any number of the stops along the Pub Crawl if you don't want to do the entire thing.
What is the attire?
Central Oregon casual. If you are walking the Pub Crawl with us, we recommend comfortable shoes and clothes. If you are only coming to dinner, feel free to wear whatever you want, but keep in mind that we'll be outside and many of us will have walked to breweries in comfortable clothing.
Why are we doing a joint reunion with Bend High and Mountain View?
Bend was a small town when we all graduated, so let's celebrate together and give back to our community we love. We'll make sure that you have plenty of opportunity to primarily interact with your own classmates, but with the potential to reconnect with friends from the other school, and to raise more money for scholarships, we thought it would be a wonderful way to connect our community.
How is this connected to the Bend Beer Chase/Cascade Lakes Race Group?
Scott and Carrie (McPherson) Douglass, both '98 grads, are the founders of Cascade Relays and the Bend Beer Chase. They offered to let us piggyback on the Bend Beer Chase Keg Leg and Finish Line festivities so we could minimize costs, maximize fun, and raise money for our community. They are providing all of the event coordination pro bono. This is what is allowing us to provide a catered dinner, unlimited beer, music, and an organized Pub Crawl providing free beer samples - while also raising money.
